Job summary

Bristol Companies seeks a Construction Surveillance Engineer Technician to provide on-site construction oversight, QA, and technical support for NAVFAC projects at Mayport, FL. The role ensures compliance with contract specs, drawings, and safety standards, serving as the government’s on-site technical representative and documenting daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years as Quality Control Manager or Superintendent on NAVFAC/USACE projects, or 10+ years as Foreman in specified trades on large projects.
• 5+ years as Journeyman in carpentry, electrical, roofing, HVAC, plumbing or concrete.
• Specialized training in Construction Quality Verification or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Able to perform walking, bending, climbing stairs and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills.
• Experience with Federal building design criteria and construction standards.
• OSHA 30-hour training and safety practices knowledge.
• USACE CQM certificate or obtain within 60 days of onboarding.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate contractor requests and liaise with FEAD/ROICC and base personnel.
• Coordinate field activities with Navy clients, managers and security/Fire Dept.
• Attend safety, CQC and Partnering meetings as needed.
• Develop Quality Assurance Plans with FEAD/ROICC.
• Prepare Construction Representative’s Reports (CRRs).
• Monitor CQC compliance with contract docs and report safety/non-compliance.
