Job summary

Sterling Asset Management Company in Sacramento is seeking a dedicated Community Manager to oversee the on-site affordable housing community. You will manage leasing, resident services, staff supervision, and vendor coordination to ensure regulatory compliance and high resident satisfaction.

The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to balance administrative tasks with hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in affordable property management (LIHTC, HUD, or similar).
• Strong understanding of leasing processes, rent collection, and compliance documentation.
• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Proficiency in property management software (Yardi preferred).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Leasing & Compliance Administration: manage screening, move-ins, recertifications, and reporting.
• Financial Operations: rent collection, delinquency management, deposits, and invoicing; budgeting adherence.
• Facilities Oversight: conduct inspections, coordinate maintenance, supervise staff and vendors.
• Tenant Relations & Resident Services: provide high-quality service, handle accommodation requests, coordinate events.
• Staff Supervision & Development: supervise maintenance and office staff; provide coaching and training.
• Risk & Regulatory Compliance: incident reports, OSHA/workers’ comp, and LIHTC/HUD compliance.
