Job summary

Arab American Family Support Center (AAFSC) in Staten Island seeks a Client Navigator (Staten Island Location) to greet clients, assess needs, and connect them to FJC services. The role focuses on crisis intervention, safety planning, and coordinating referrals with multiple partners.

The position requires an Associate degree and at least two years of experience with survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, and U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus at least two years of relevant work with survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.
• Understanding dynamics of domestic violence, GBV, trauma, and safety planning.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary, diverse teams and communities.
• Commitment to equity and client-centered engagement with survivors.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and provide overview of FJC service delivery and confidentiality policies.
• Screen clients to assess eligibility and service needs.
• Call back voicemails and conduct virtual screenings as needed.
• Notify supervisor and ENDGBV/FJC staff of high-risk cases.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when needed.
• Identify referrals for case management, mental health, legal, economic empowerment, and law enforcement.
• Connect walk-in clients with their assigned case manager or safety assessment as needed.
• Provide warm hand-offs and referrals if not eligible for FJC services.
• Maintain client communications and provide wait-time updates.
• Coordinate with District Attorney’s Office staff for referrals and appointments.
• Enter client data into the FJC database daily.
• Solicit client feedback and follow up on surveys.
• Provide coverage for Front-Line Advocate as needed.
• Adhere to confidentiality practices and protocols.
