Job summary

Transwestern is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer in Washington, DC to perform maintenance tasks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems. Under the Chief Engineer, you will conduct preventive and corrective repairs, manage energy usage, and respond to emergencies to ensure client comfort and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience or trade school training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of related experience or trade school training.
• Minimum 2 years building maintenance experience and knowledge of building systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other building systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) to meet design specs.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with others as needed.
• Maintain energy management to minimize operating costs.
• Maintain building lighting, including repairs or replacements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
