Job summary

Transwestern is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer in Rockville, MD. The role entails completing work orders, grounds maintenance, painting, caulking, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical tasks, and general preventive maintenance under the Chief Engineer's supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade school training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years building maintenance experience.
• Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, and repair.
• CFC certification preferred or pursuing; valid driver license may be required.
• Proficient with energy management systems, and MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems (plumbing, HVAC, roofs, drains, etc.).
• Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings and systems.
• Maintain equipment per preventive maintenance programs.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure proper operation.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and manage energy usage to minimize costs.
• Maintain building lighting systems and perform related repairs.
