Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Building Engineer for The Woodlands, TX, to perform maintenance on buildings, systems, and grounds. The role requires hands-on oversight of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related infrastructure and may involve directing technicians and contractors on projects.

This is an on-site, first-shift position. Applicants should have a GED or high school diploma, at least three years of building maintenance experience, and necessary trade licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience.
• Thorough knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required (e.g., Journeyman/Master Electrician or city licenses).
• Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
• Solid understanding of HVAC, electrical and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
• Inspect building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) and ensure operation within design specifications.
• Lead repairs and direct contractors on projects as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain an energy management program to reduce operating costs.
• Maintain building lighting systems and perform related replacements.
