Job summary

Transwestern in Washington, DC seeks an Assistant Building Engineer to perform maintenance across HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other systems. You’ll handle work orders, grounds care, painting, caulking and inspections under the Chief Engineer.

An on-site, fast-paced environment ensures hands-on problems are solved promptly. Minimum two years’ building maintenance experience and a general understanding of building systems are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of related experience or trade school training.
• Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance and repair.
• Must have or be pursuing CFC certification and/or HVAC license (preferred).
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair building systems including plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on equipment and grounds.
• Inspect fire alarms, HVAC and plumbing for proper operation.
• Respond to emergencies and work on-site as required.
