Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Chief Engineer in Baltimore, MD to oversee efficient operation of all building systems, supervise engineers, and lead a service-oriented team.

You will manage preventive maintenance, energy programs, and tenant services while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements. On-site role with no remote option, requiring strong leadership and extensive facilities expertise.

Qualifications

• Trade school trained; minimum 10 years in building operations or equivalent.
• 7+ years building maintenance in commercial property with supervisory experience.
• Licenses/permits such as Journeyman/Master Electrician or related (e.g., Refrigeration Certificate, Boiler license).
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, refrigerant systems, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff; hire, train, assess performance.
• Oversee work orders and ensure timely completion and compliance.
• Implement preventive maintenance and energy management programs.
• Maintain safety, fire/life safety, and building systems reliability.
• Coordinate with client teams and vendors; assist business development as needed.
