Job summary

Met Council seeks a Pantry Coordinator for the Boro Park Food Program in Brooklyn. You will oversee client communications, manage emergency food orders, and handle inventory at our Brooklyn Social Services Hub, ensuring friendly and professional interactions with guests in person or via the pantry’s mobile system.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, knowledge of Kashrut laws, and 2+ years in related work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge of Kashrut laws required.
• 2+ years in food pantry operations, social services, or related field.
• Fluent in English; Yiddish or Hebrew preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a functional emergency food space that supports program goals.
• Oversee ordering and packing of clients’ emergency food packages.
• Assist clients with order placement and navigate market inquiries.
• Manage and maintain inventory control.
• Oversee pantry volunteers with supervision and guidance.
• Assemble and disassemble pallets of food.
• Participate in team programs, meetings, seminars, and trainings.
