Job summary

Paylocity is seeking a Supervisor- Benefits Support (Team Lead) in Schaumburg, IL to manage day-to-day operations of the Benefits Support team. This 100% in-office role requires strong payroll/HR knowledge, leadership skills, and a proven ability to coach and develop staff while resolving client issues.

The role emphasizes ownership of team performance, collaboration across departments, and hands-on guidance to ensure exceptional client service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in Payroll/HR Industry required.
• 2+ years' experience in technical/problem-solving client facing role required.
• 2+ years of leadership experience required; Inclusive of leading and supporting a team.
• Ownership and accountability in group responsibilities.
• Previous benefits experience strongly preferred.
• Previous experience with Payroll systems is strongly preferred.
• Previous supervisory/mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day work of the assigned group and delegate tasks as needed.
• Provide training and coaching to new and existing team members.
• Handle escalated issues from customers or internal teams with a collaborative approach.
• Facilitate regular team updates through meetings, 1:1s, or huddles.
• Offer input on performance management and opportunities for advancement.
• Develop action plans to improve team or individual performance.
• Serve as a technical resource to the Support Team as needed.
• Act as SME in key department areas and contribute to training materials.
