Job summary

Simons Foundation seeks an AV Technician to operate, support, and maintain in-house audio-visual equipment across auditoriums, conference rooms, and offices in New York City. You will collaborate with the events team to define AV requirements and run in-person, virtual, and hybrid events, ensuring smooth execution and real-time problem-solving.

You will also train staff, handle post‑event video management, and contribute to long‑term technology planning.

Qualifications

• Education: bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years in AV or related field.
• Familiarity with standard equipment, software, concepts, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain in-house AV equipment in auditoriums, conference rooms, and offices.
• Collaborate with events team to define AV needs for events.
• Test and prepare presentations; troubleshoot issues before/during events.
• Operate equipment during events and manage post-event video files.
• Train staff to use AV equipment and run meetings.
• Monitor help desk tickets and assist with long-term AV planning.
