Job summary

The New York Academy of Sciences is seeking an AV Technician to set up, operate, and maintain audiovisual systems for live, hybrid, and recorded events at our conference spaces and podcast studio in Downtown Manhattan. You will work closely with the Associate Director, AV, and event staff to deliver high-quality technical support, ensuring events run smoothly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, operate, and dismantle audiovisual equipment for live, hybrid, virtual, and recorded events.
• Operate audiovisual systems during events and provide real-time technical support to presenters and staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve audiovisual issues quickly to minimize disruption.
• Prepare event spaces by testing equipment and ensuring full operational readiness.
• Transport and handle equipment following safety procedures.
• Provide courteous, responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
