Job summary

TGW Systems Inc. is seeking a Resident Automation Technician I to support customers at site locations in Grand Rapids. You will troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, including conveyors, shuttles, cranes, and scale systems, while representing TGW professionally.

Based at customer sites, you will perform maintenance, monitor equipment, and collaborate with the Lifetime Services team to ensure safety, quality, and KPI attainment. A strong mechanical and electrical background is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
• Previous experience in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and repair of material handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer equipment issues quickly and practically.
• Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
• Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
• Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
• Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.
• Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
