Job summary

Remedial Construction Services (RECON) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for on-site leadership outside of Houston, TX. You will direct earthwork, cap closure, and remediation operations, coordinating crews and heavy equipment to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.

The role requires 5+ years directing earthwork projects, a Construction Management degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and Primavera (P6). On-site work and travel to sites are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline, or a combination of education and experience managing and directing operations for earthwork or environmental remediation projects
• 5+ years directing earthwork construction projects, running a crew/equipment related to soil treatment, soil stabilization and/or environmental remediation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Teams; Primavera (P6) experience; cost estimating software and/or Groundworks a plus
• Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work onsite with exposure to dust, noise, and inclement weather; travel to project sites as required

Responsibilities

• Strategically align RECON's goals with daily field operations from project start to closure
• Support safety initiatives and lead efforts to implement safety programs
• Direct project work execution per contract scope, including pre-bid, startup, contract management, resource allocation and change orders
• Manage project controls tools to report progress and compile status reports
• Use KPI graphs to track and manage project risks
• Analyze progress and financial data to forecast performance and outcomes
• Foster client relationships to promote cooperation and timely payments
• Mentor project teams and ensure safety, quality control, and productivity
• Prepare and submit invoices; monitor payment status and pursue overdue amounts
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts
