Job summary

RECON is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Questa, NM to partner with the Project Manager and direct daily earthwork, cap closure, and environmental remediation projects. You will lead the crew, ensure safety, and keep work on time and on budget onsite.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years directing earthwork/remediation, a Construction Management degree or equivalent, proficiency with MS Word/Excel/Project, and willingness to travel to sites; Primavera knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience directing earthwork construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience managing and directing operations for earthwork or environmental remediation projects.
• Progressive increase in financial responsibility and supervisory accountability with a proven track record of meeting project and company goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and Teams; Primavera (P6) software, cost estimating software and/or Groundworks would be a plus.
• Must have the ability to work effectively with little or no direct supervision and thrive in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.
• Willingness to work in a construction environment onsite as needed with exposure to dust, noise, and inclement weather.
• Must be able to travel to project sites to work onsite and manage daily field operations, perform site walks, mitigate risk for the organization, etc.

Responsibilities

• Strategically connect RECON's company goals with daily field operations from project start to closure.
• Support Safety and lead efforts to implement health and safety programs.
• Direct execution of project work including pre-bid activities, start-up, contract management, resource allocation and change orders.
• Manage project control tools to report daily progress and compile status reports.
• Use KPI graphs to track and manage project risks.
• Analyze progress and financial data to forecast performance and completion dates.
• Foster relationships with clients to ensure cooperation and timely payments.
• Coach and mentor project teams while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.
• Prepare invoices and pursue overdue payments.
• Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.
