Job summary

Akima seeks a Transportation Coordinator to plan and coordinate inbound and outbound Army shipments at a contractor-operated site in Colorado. The role focuses on compliance with DTR and Army policies, while maintaining precise documentation and accountability for government property.

The successful candidate will manage schedules, liaise with unit staff and drivers, and generate movement reports to the Site Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher degree preferred in logistics or transportation.
• 3–5 years in transportation or logistics coordination, Army contractor or military environment preferred.
• Experience with Army turn-in, SSA operations, and relevant regulations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt and shipment of Army equipment and repair parts.
• Develop and manage shipment schedules to prevent bottlenecks during mass turn-ins.
• Prepare shipping documents (DA 1348-1A, DD 1149, bills of lading, TCMDs).
• Enter movement data into Army systems and maintain logs for audit readiness.
