SimVentions, Inc. invites applications for an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD Dahlgren SLBM testing team on site.

The role focuses on designing test plans, executing automated and manual tests, and tracing requirements while coordinating with developers and government customers. The candidate should have a math/physics degree with some coding, 1+ years of software testing, Linux proficiency, and strong communication; U.S.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or education
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code
• Experience using Linux systems
• Strong requirements traceability skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to customers
• Strong teamwork and ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system-level)
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide constructive feedback
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities
• Interface with government customers daily
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation
