SimVentions is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD SLBM team at NSWC Dahlgren, VA, in a full-time, on-site role. Develop test plans, scripts, and cases tied to requirements; perform manual and automated testing and interface with government customers daily.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in applied math/physics, 1+ years in software testing, and familiarity with C++ code and Linux. Active Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied math/physics in engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing or equivalent education; may be concurrent with math/physics.
• Familiarity with reviewing C++ code and Linux systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, descriptions, and cases aligned to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing across static, dynamic, integration, and system levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and related tools.
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers for fixes.
• Review peers' test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprints and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily; present testing docs occasionally.
