Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD Dahlgren team. You will design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests, tie cases to requirements, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve defects on-site in Dahlgren, VA.

The role requires a BS in applied math/physics, 2+ years in the field, Linux experience, and strong communication skills for daily customer interactions. Active Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of applied math/physics experience in engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing or related education.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Strong requirements traceability and communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing at multiple levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and Jira.
• Identify, document, and track defects with developers.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interact with government customers daily; present testing docs.
