SimVentions, Inc. in Dahlgren, VA is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD SLBM team.

You will design, implement, and execute automated and manual test plans tied to requirements, collaborating with developers and government customers to resolve defects on-site at NSWC-Dahlgren. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of applied math/physics experience and 1+ year in software testing, with Linux proficiency and strong traceability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in applied math or physics in engineering projects.
• 1+ years software/systems testing experience.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Strong requirements traceability skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; customer interaction.
• Ability to work with government customers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write detailed test plans, test descriptions, and test cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing (static, dynamic, integration, system).
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and other tools.
• Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with developers for rapid resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface directly with government customers daily and occasionally present testing docs.
