Job summary

Empath Health is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in Palm Harbor, Florida. This on-site role focuses on accurate data entry, timely invoice processing, and adherence to payment terms to maintain strong relationships with vendors.

You will ensure proper approvals, GL coding, and compliance with regulatory requirements such as IRS 1099. Proficiency in Excel and experience with Dynamics GP are preferred, with PTO and benefits supporting a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year direct processing experience in a computerized high-volume accounts payable department.
• Basic understanding of period end accruals and three-way matching of payables and purchasing documents.
• Familiarity with IRS Form W-9 and 1099 reporting requirements is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Office familiarity beneficial.
• Experience with Dynamics GP Accounts Payable is a plus; knowledge of Unclaimed Property regulations is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensure invoices and check requests have proper approvals and GL coding; route when missing and follow up within a week if not returned.
• Voucher approved invoices and checks into AP system promptly and ensure timely payment per terms.
• Prepare batches for vouchering of claims for the Accounting Team Specialists.
• Research invoice discrepancies and communicate with vendors to prevent duplicative payments.
• Maintain records for compliance with regulatory requirements, including IRS 1099 and Unclaimed Property.
