Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a hands-on technician in Bolingbrook, IL for on-site work. The role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting photo eyes, proximity switches, PLC I/O, and drive systems on a 3rd shift with overtime potential.

You will diagnose control systems, program PLCs and HMIs, work with Profibus/industrial Ethernet, and perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and production equipment. A high school diploma and PLC experience are required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), servo systems required.
Experience with troubleshooting and performing maintenance on packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficient with electrical schematics and safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PPE) preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules, and associated control wiring.
Provide troubleshooting for analog and digital controls with 480V 3-phase power distribution, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and soft starts.
Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; modify PLC logic in ladder form.
Troubleshoot communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet) and diagnose equipment using electrical schematics.
Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors, and production equipment.
