Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a hands-on 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on construction sites, verify data on site, then process in Artec Studio and deliver CAD-ready outputs, including mesh and deviation reports.

The role requires experience with Artec Leo or similar scanners, CAD reading skills, and willingness to travel regionally; overtime may be required during pours and plant windows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld structured-light or laser scanner on real projects.
• Familiarity with CAD software and ability to read drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; able to travel and fly with equipment.
• Aci/ICC certifications a plus — sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement, failed structures, corroded pipes, and machine parts.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlap zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving and process scans in Artec Studio.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and scan-to-CAD exports (STEP/IGES).
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
