Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach on campus and in-person, delivering lectures, demonstrations, and lab work with a focus on engaging students through a structured curriculum. The role involves evaluating student progress and utilizing audiovisual and tech aids to enhance learning.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree or higher with relevant graduate coursework, plus experience as an educator.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area.
• Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s with 18 graduate credits relevant to the discipline.
• Two years of practical experience in the course content area with related degree, or three years if degree is unrelated.
• Minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Keep students engaged in a classroom environment following the established curriculum/syllabus.
• Create a positive educational climate with clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Manage student behavior in classroom/online; observe and evaluate performance.
• Identify and refer students at risk to the Student Success Coordinator.
• Provide ongoing advisement and academic counseling; tutor and mentor students individually.
• Grade tests and projects; maintain grade books; track attendance; perform admin duties.
• Administer tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, and trainings; complete annual PD activities.
• Provide input and participate in academic committees for program enrichment.
