Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking an adjunct instructor to deliver learning experiences in the classroom, online, and in the lab using varied methods and aids. You will assess student progress, maintain records, and support student success within an established curriculum.

The role requires a Master’s degree or higher, significant subject-area coursework, and several years of teaching or related experience.

Qualifications

• Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program.
• Minimum 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area.
• Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours relevant to the discipline.
• Two years of practical experience in the course content area; three years if degree is unrelated.

Responsibilities

• Keep students engaged in the classroom following the established curriculum/syllabus.
• Create a positive educational climate with clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Manage student behavior in classroom/online; observe and evaluate performance.
• Identify and refer students who are at risk to the Student Success Coordinator.
• Provide ongoing advisement and academic counseling through tutoring and mentoring.
• Grade tests and projects; maintain grade books; track attendance; perform admin duties.
• Administer tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, training sessions; complete required in-services.
• Provide input in academic committees for program enrichment.
