Job summary

Arizona College of Nursing seeks an adjunct instructor to teach on campus and in person, under the supervision of the Dean of General Education. You will use lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual tools to supplement presentations and assess student achievement.

The role requires a Master’s degree or higher, at least 15 graduate credits, and 2–3 years of teaching experience; English communication is essential. Competitive pay and professional development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher from an accredited program required.
• Minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area.
• Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credit hours relevant to the discipline.
• Two years of practical teaching experience; three years if degree is in an unrelated field.
• Minimum of three years of work experience as an educator.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English.

Responsibilities

• Keep students engaged in a classroom environment following an established curriculum/syllabus.
• Create a positive educational climate with clear objectives for learning activities.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
• Manage student behavior in classroom/online and evaluate performance.
• Identify and refer students at risk to the Student Success Coordinator.
• Provide ongoing advisement and tutoring as needed.
• Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books and attendance.
• Administer tests to measure progress and training effectiveness.
• Participate in conferences, trainings and professional development activities.
• Contribute input to academic committees for program enrichment.
