Job summary

Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) is seeking an AV and Service Desk Technician to provide frontline technology support to students, faculty, and staff across campus. The role covers hardware, software, accounts, and AV needs with hands-on event support.

This in-office position requires collaborative teamwork, strong communication, and a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and campus programs.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or customer service roles (≤140 chars)
• Experience using ticketing systems such as TeamDynamix, ServiceNow, or Zendesk (≤140 chars)
• Proficiency with Google for Education and Microsoft Office suites (≤140 chars)
• Basic troubleshooting for computers, networks, printers, and mobile devices (≤140 chars)
• Experience with user accounts management, including password resets and permissions (≤140 chars)
• Familiarity with classroom AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, or willingness to learn (≤140 chars)
• Familiarity with web conferencing tools like Zoom and Google Meet (≤140 chars)
• Knowledge of AV hardware basics: projectors, microphones, signal flow (≤140 chars)
• Ability to follow AV setup diagrams and troubleshoot display/sound issues (≤140 chars)
• Familiarity with basic video editing software or willingness to learn (≤140 chars)
• Strong customer service and communication, with patience for all tech levels (≤140 chars)
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tickets (≤140 chars)

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technology support to NMH students, faculty, and staff
• Provide hands-on AV support for classes, meetings, and campus events
• Manage service requests through the IT ticketing system
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, accounts, and basic network issues
• Assist with setup and operation of projectors, sound systems, and web conferencing
• Support after-hours campus events as needed
• Collaborate with IT team to deliver reliable technology services
