Job summary
BKF is seeking an on-call Construction Inspector to perform on-site inspections and ensure compliance with contract requirements and permits. Responsibilities include reports, sampling, utility checks, traffic control reviews, and maintaining inspection records.
The role requires a college degree or 5+ years in Civil/Transportation projects, plus 4+ years in supervision or inspection and a valid CA driver's license. Competitive benefits and flexible schedules are offered.
Qualifications
- College degree or 5+ years of transportation/civil project experience.
- 4+ years of supervision or inspection on engineering construction work.
- Valid California Class C driver's license required.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and report on a variety of construction projects on site.
- Advise Resident Engineer/Agency PM and inform contractors of variances.
- Collect samples, prepare specimens, and coordinate field tests.
- Check utilities locations to avoid interference with work.
- Review traffic control plans, safety, and earthwork operations.
- Maintain daily diary, quantities, records, and submittals.
- Support PM in reviewing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
