Job summary

Asante is seeking a Surgery Aide to maintain a clean, safe surgical environment under RN supervision. You’ll handle OR turnover, stocking, and patient transport, ensuring asepsis and patient safety throughout shifts.

This on-call position requires flexibility for varying hours and days. Responsibilities include transporting patients to the OR, using proper body mechanics, and responding to emergencies while confirming patient identity via armband.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
• Previous experience within a team environment required
• Surgery or orderly aide experience preferred
• BLS certification required upon start
• CNA or equivalent licensure (such as EMT) preferred
• CSCT (Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician) preferred

Responsibilities

• Transport patients safely to and from the Operating Room (OR)
• Demonstrate proper body mechanics and safe patient positioning and moving
• Respond to emergencies within the department and obtain necessary equipment
• Identify yourself to the patient and identify the patient by checking the patient armband prior to transport
