Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an OR support team member to assist the Surgical Team in intraoperative care and perioperative patient management. Responsibilities include OR room setup, turnover, instrument handling, and preparing equipment and supplies for procedures in the hospital operating rooms.

The role supports anesthesia staff and OR nurses, assists with patient transport, housekeeping duties, and maintains accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Assists with maintaining inventories of supplies and materials.
• Cleans, sterilizes and assembles instruments, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Assists with skin prep of the surgical site and aseptic technique.
• Cleans/disinfects the surgical suite and maintains housekeeping functions.
• Transports patients to and from the OR and handles bed/cart transfers.
• Decontaminate and sterilize instruments and instrument sets as needed.
• Move case carts to proper locations before and after surgery.
