Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to plow snow and maintain roads during weather events. Hours vary by weather and season, with an extra $1 per hour for night shifts (7 p.m.–7 a.m.).

Emergency wage rates apply by season, and a CDL is required to operate the vehicles. The role includes pre-trip inspections, safety duties, and potential overtime. Background checks and drug screening are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CDL Class A or B license with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials, or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
