Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Echocardiography Technologist to perform diagnostic echocardiograms, TEE, and stress echo in a clinical setting. You will serve as a preceptor and clinical resource for others while ensuring high-quality patient care and accurate reporting.

The role requires RDCS certification and BLS, with the ability to collaborate with physicians and maintain detailed medical records. Weekend shifts and on-call duties are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program.
• RDCS certification and BLS required; meets Echocardiography Tech III ladder qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms, TEE, stress echo, and advanced procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and following procedural guidelines and protocols.
• Explains procedures and possible side effects to the patient or family members.
• Collaborates with physician to ensure quality patient care.
• Operates equipment used to perform echocardiograms.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Organizes 3 stages involved in the reporting process: study completion, physician interpretation and final report.
• Submits final reports to appropriate nursing unit, physician office or medical records as requested.
• Takes call, works weekends and rotates holidays as needed.
