Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an Echocardiography Technician II to perform diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echoes. You will record quality data, explain procedures to patients, and ensure accurate documentation. The role requires collaboration with physicians, operation of imaging equipment, and maintaining records. On-call weekends and holiday rotations are included.

Experience with echocardiography and adherence to safety protocols are essential, along with RDCS and BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of cardiac ultrasound training program.
• RDCS certification required.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered.
• Records quality information during imaging and adheres to guidelines.
• Explains procedures and potential side effects to patients.
• Verifies physician requests and reviews patient history for indicators/contraindications.
• Collaborates with physicians to ensure quality care.
• Operates echocardiography equipment.
• Maintains patient medical records.
• Organizes the three stages of reporting: study, interpretation, final report.
• Submits final reports to the appropriate unit or office.
• Performs portable echocardiograms.
• Assumes charge/preceptor duties when requested.
• Takes call, works weekends, rotates holidays.
