Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Relief Residential Advocate to safeguard the well-being of Shelter residents and supervise volunteers. The role includes crisis intervention, client counseling, intake interviews, and adherence to program rules.

It requires strong communication, knowledge of or willingness to learn about homelessness, aging, veterans, and related services. The position is part-time/relief, based in Durango, CO, with on-site duties, flexible shifts including

Qualifications

Two years experience in human services or related area.

Responsibilities

Provides for the protection of residents' emotional and physical well-being within program guidelines.
Supervises volunteers and participates in staff meetings and trainings.
Conducts weekly individual counseling and helps clients set and pursue goals.
Provides trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
Conducts intake interviews and determines admission suitability.
