Job summary

Motorola Solutions in Minnesota seeks a Field Service Technician to support mission-critical mobile communications systems for government and public safety customers. The role requires on-site presence two days per week and on-call coverage 24/7/365, with remote support as needed.

You will deploy, optimize, and repair infrastructure, loggers, subscribers, and networking equipment, collaborating with engineers and project teams to ensure system availability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in LMR, RF Systems, IT, networking or public safety engineering.
• Strong knowledge of wired/wireless communications, LAN/WAN, and data circuits.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mission-critical systems and applications.
• Maintain, optimize, test, document, and support complex communication systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance with trend analysis and documentation.
• Develop solutions for difficult technical problems during maintenance or upgrades.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, Sales and Customer Service teams.
• Deliver weekly activity and accomplishment reports.
• Maintain server hardware/OS and software infrastructure, troubleshooting issues.
• Ensure on-call coverage and rapid problem resolution in stressful situations.
