Job summary

Greystar seeks a Service Technician to maintain the physical aspects of buildings and common areas, ensuring safety and functionality. The role involves diagnosing defects, performing repairs, and coordinating with vendors as needed.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, making-ready vacant units, maintaining inventories, and ensuring documentation is up to date. Must be able to work on-call and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of property maintenance experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, preventive maintenance, and unit turnovers.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work orders from resident requests and performs preventative maintenance.
• Makes-ready for vacant apartments, including pre-move-out inspections and punch lists.
• Manages materials, tools, and inventory, and notifies supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Documents work orders accurately and timely for tracking.
• Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities; performs cleaning and painting as needed.
• Supports cost-cutting by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible.
