Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to support in-hospital mobility, moving patients safely between units and departments. You will work with nursing staff to ensure patient comfort and safety during transfers, using wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.

A strong focus on infection control and timely transportation is required. The role requires a high school diploma and good reading/writing in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Excellent patient transportation and safety skills.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
• Assist nursing staff with patient positioning and transfers.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, and transport equipment; maintain logs.
• Transport specimens and supplies following infection control guidelines.
• Maintain Safe Patient Transport Forms and coordinate with dispatch system.
