Job summary

UMass Memorial Medical Group is seeking a Hospital Transporter to support patient mobility across the facility. The role involves transporting patients, assisting nursing staff with positioning, and handling medical supplies and equipment in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining transport logs, following infection control guidelines, and working with the dispatch system for assigned duties. A high school diploma is required, and English proficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed and verify patient identity.
• Assist in moving and positioning patients using lift devices.
• Deliver beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs; clean and sanitize transport equipment.
• Transport patient specimens to Lab, Pathology, and Blood Bank per infection control guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain Transporter Trip Logs and related records.
