Job summary

YES Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help maintain community grounds, complete repairs, and manage service requests for residents in Lansing, MI. The role involves inspecting facilities, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety standards are met on site.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver’s license, prior refurbishment experience, and familiarity with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pool operation.

Qualifications

• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous home refurbishment or make-ready experience preferred.
• HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Pool Operation experience are a PLUS.
• OSHA certifications or completed trainings are a plus.
• Proficiency in industry specific software products including the use of electronic devices/tablets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rental inventory through preventative maintenance, work-orders, and home refurbs.
• Keep the community grounds, common areas, and vacant lots clean and free of debris and trash.
• Complete all work in a timely manner, without sacrificing quality or safety standards.
• Respond to after-hour emergency calls according to on-call schedule.
• Read water meters, identify, and resolve leaks within the community as applicable.
• Organize maintenance facilities, tools, and equipment.
• Aid in new home delivery and set-up and report any warranty/follow-up work to management.
• Deliver resident notices as requested by management.
• Participate in all required team/safety meetings.
• Uphold OSHA standards and maintain Personal Protective Equipment as required by State law.
• Maintain safe winter road conditions through snow removal and de-icing when applicable.
• Operate and maintain all company vehicles according to compliance and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and residents.
• Ability to work safely around pets, service animals, and wildlife.
• Additional duties as assigned by management and subject to change.
