Job summary

MidPen Housing Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for Riverwood Grove to maintain safe, quality housing across electrical, plumbing, carpentry and landscaping systems.

Reporting to the Community Manager, you will handle complex tasks and mentor junior staff in a mission‑driven environment serving working families, seniors, and residents with special needs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years of maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation experience.
• Extensive plumbing knowledge with electrical repair experience.
• Rough and finish carpentry experience.
• OSHA safety regulations knowledge and landscape maintenance practices.
• Strong coaching and training abilities with good written/verbal communication.
• Basic computer skills for work order management and documentation.
• Valid California driver's license with reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather, confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rotating on-call schedule, providing 24/7 emergency maintenance for seven days including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform skilled maintenance and repairs in electrical work on appliances, fixtures, switches, and circuits, and plumbing repairs.
• Prepare vacant units for re-occupancy within established timeframes by completing turnovers, painting, flooring replacement, and installing fixtures and appliances.
• Maintain landscaping and irrigation systems and ensure lighting and clean common areas.
• Coach and provide oversight to Maintenance Groundskeeper staff and assist with training.
• Coordinate with contractors by assisting in bidding, scheduling, and monitoring completion of services.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules, maintain work order documentation, and manage inventory control.
• Assist Community Manager with move-ins/outs, inspections, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
