Job summary

Related Affordable Housing seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our buildings and grounds safe, functional, and inviting. You’ll handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep, and prepare units for occupancy in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll work with a dedicated team, participate in an on-call rotation, and contribute to a strong community focus. We value reliability, teamwork, and safety in every task.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in general maintenance or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
• Affordable housing experience is a plus.
• Must be able to participate in the emergency on-call rotation as needed.
• Dedicated to exceeding expectations by providing exceptional service.
• Willingness to embrace feedback and continuously improve.
• Strong belief in the value of teamwork and collaboration.
• Reliable and committed to doing the right thing at all times.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Personal standards of appearance and dress compatible with the Company’s standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, addressing safety issues immediately with management.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
• Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on-call for emergency maintenance.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and report any shortages.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with the supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
