Job summary

MidPen Housing Corp. seeks a Maintenance Technician for Riverwood Grove to keep safe, quality housing across electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and landscaping. You’ll report to the Community Manager and do hands-on work in a mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities include 24/7 on-call maintenance, unit turnovers, coordinating with contractors, and supervising junior staff, ensuring inspections and preventive maintenance are completed on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience, preferably in property management.
• Extensive plumbing knowledge with electrical repairs to appliances, circuits, and fixtures.
• Rough and finish carpentry experience and ability to perform structural and cosmetic repairs.
• Basic OSHA safety knowledge and landscape maintenance practices.
• Strong coaching and training abilities with good written and verbal communication.
• Basic computer skills for work order management and documentation.
• Valid California driver's license with reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in all weather conditions, and perform confined-space tasks.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24/7 emergency maintenance support.
• Perform skilled maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
• Prepare vacant units for re-occupancy including turnovers, painting, flooring, and fixtures.
• Maintain landscaping and irrigation and ensure clean, safe common areas.
• Coach and oversee Maintenance Groundskeeper staff and assist training.
• Coordinate with contractors, schedule work, and monitor contracted services.
• Complete preventive maintenance schedules, document work orders, and manage inventory.
• Assist Community Manager with move-ins/outs, inspections, and procurement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
