Job summary

NCW Libraries seeks a Library Assistant in a substitute, on-call role. Duties include customer service, issuing cards, checking materials in/out, and assisting patrons with technology.

Work is performed under supervision at the branch level, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and prior customer service experience; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist library patrons with a courteous, professional attitude.
• Process library transactions including checkout/return and card issuance.
• Assist users with computers and databases and provide reference support.
• Support opening/closing procedures and maintain orderly shelves.
