Job summary

Gregg County Information Technology is hiring a Help Desk Technician to provide on-site support for Windows 10/11 PCs, printers, and related devices. The role requires basic LAN knowledge, Office suite proficiency, and the ability to lift equipment as needed.

The ideal candidate will install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software, respond to user inquiries via phone or chat, and log tickets for tracking.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 1 year IT support experience.
• 1 year experience installing and supporting Windows 10/11.
• General knowledge of LANs and PC-workstation/server relationships.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and maneuver under desks.
• Must be on call on a rotating schedule (nights and weekends).
• Reliable transportation to support remote locations.
• Good personality and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up PCs, printers and scanners.
• Assist users with application issues.
• Perform software upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems.
• Answer phone calls.
• Respond to emails or chat requests.
• Log tickets, deploy/move hardware.
