Job summary

Addus Homecare is urgently hiring Home Care Aides - Core to support seniors and individuals with disabilities in their homes. The role involves on-call shifts 5 days per week (at least one weekend day), with 40 hours weekly and 20 hours guaranteed. Schedule determined by a supervisor and assignments cannot be refused.

The position emphasizes compassionate care, adherence to care plans, and assisting with daily tasks, transportation, and medication management.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation with valid license and insurance when driving.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Calls the office each morning for assignments.
• Follow care plans and report completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal prep and laundry.
• Transport client to appointments and errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
