Job summary

Addus Homecare is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and people with disabilities living at home. The Home Care Aide - Core works on a 5-day on-call schedule, with 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed), including at least one weekend day, and is assigned by a supervisor.

Duties include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housework, transportation to appointments, basic medication assistance, and monitoring changes in condition.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor's appointments and essential errands.
• Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
