Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking inspectors to test and maintain fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows, with minimal supervision. You will inspect and document conditions, coordinate inspections, and stay current with NFPA codes.

A valid driver's license and the ability to work on-call as needed are required. Qualifications include HS Diploma or equivalent, NICET/state certification preferred, and 3–5 years of experience in fire protection systems.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
• NICET and/or state required certification based on location, preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems required; 5+ years preferred.
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
• Must read and communicate in English; proficient with basic math and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to SFS and customers.
• Communicate with customers and monitoring companies professionally.
• Operate inspection tools (heat/smoke detectors, backflow kit, pumps).
• Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled.
• Be on-call as required by location to handle emergencies.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools, and follow safety policies.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety documentation.
