Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking inspectors to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a HS Diploma, and NICET certification if required by location; you will read blueprints, use tools, and coordinate inspections. Travel may be required.

Candidates must communicate clearly, work independently or on a team, and adhere to safety programs and company policies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET and/or state certification required based on location; preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems; 5+ years preferred.
• Ability to work alone or in a team; strong math, mechanical, problem solving, customer service, and multitasking skills.
• Excellent reading, writing, and communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes and sprinkler components.
• Record and report deficiencies to SFS and customers.
• Communicate professionally with customers and offsite monitoring companies.
• Operate tools for inspections (detectors, backflow kit, pump equipment).
• Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled; be on-call as required.
• Ensure vehicle and tools are safe and maintained; follow safety programs and policies.
• Attend seminars to stay updated on technology and practices.
• Train inspector trainees in applicable aspects of fire protection.
• Other duties may be assigned.
