Job summary

Stantec in Northern California is seeking an on-call archaeology field team member for temporary, part-time work. You will identify and document archaeological resources, collaborate with a Field Director, and collect field data across sites in Northern California and potentially beyond, including occasional office or lab-based tasks.

The role requires a background in Anthropology/Archaeology, willingness to travel, and a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Interest in Cultural Resource Management
• Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Able to travel and work away from home.
• A valid California driver’s license is required

Responsibilities

• Participate in identifying and recording areas of archeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.
• Work closely with a Field Director/Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management.
• Collect field data
• Participate in field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type)
• Assist in archaeological impact assessments
• Excavations
• Construction Monitoring
