Job summary

Stantec’s Environmental Services Cultural Resources Team in Southern California is seeking motivated team members to grow our Cultural Resources program. This role supports a variety of projects including CEQA/Section 106 work and field surveys, with desktop reviews and construction monitoring.

We have offices across southern California including Pasadena, Los Angeles, Monrovia, San Bernardino, and San Diego, offering a flexible schedule and opportunities to grow in field-based archaeology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology or Archaeology from an accredited university.
• 1-year minimum relevant field experience (e.g., field school, internship, CRM work).

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Directors and Project Managers with pre-field planning and surveys.
• Document precontact and historic resources per standards.
• Complete site records, feature forms, soil descriptions, sketches, photos.
• Use GPS/GNSS units with sub-meter accuracy for mapping.
• Perform desktop research and prepare DPR 523 forms as needed.
• Support impact assessments and site significance evaluations.
• Prepare daily logs, monitoring reports, and HSSE docs.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a professional environment.
• Work solo or in teams across varied field conditions.
• Provide field logistics support and equipment coordination.
